A section of a busy road in Congleton is set to close for almost three weeks.

Beginning on 12 August, Mill Street will be closed from the junction of Antrobus Street to Rood Hill roundabout.

A spokesperson for Cadent, who will be carrying out the works, said: We're replacing the old pipes with new plastic ones which will mean that you'll be ready for greener gas in the future.

The work is expected to be complete by 30 August (Nub News).

We'll have to turn off your gas supply during some of our works and may need access to your home, but our teams on site will be on hand to let you know more information."

Motorists will be diverted via Mill Street, Swan Bank, West Street, West Road Roundabout, Clayton Bypass, Clayton-by-pass Roundabout, Rood Hill, Rood Hill Roundabout and vice versa.

The work is expected to be completed by 30 August.
