A club of Congleton businesspeople is helping disadvantaged kids see Santa this Christmas.

Rotary-Congleton is helping its friends and neighbours at Biddulph Rotary Club with their Santa's grotto at Glebe Farm.

They've come up with a great Christmassy idea to help underprivileged kids. So if you know of anyone, please read on!

The collaboration is made possible and affordable by the collaboration between the two Rotary Clubs.

For those that can afford it, they can pay just £5 to see the Glebe Farm Santa and receive a selection box, or pay £10 and receive a present, but it's not about them.

Biddulph Rotary's objective is to reach out to families that cannot afford the fiver.

Dane Housing, Congleton Town Council, Biddulph Town Council, Gingerbread and the New life Church, St Mary's, Astbury and the United Reform Church and Rotary-Congleton are already organisations in the scheme.

It works like this. If you know of any family with a child desperate to meet Santa, where the budget is just too tight, let one of the organisations know so that they can pass the telephone number on.

Mark's Events at Biddulph will make contact and arrange an appointment to see Santa at Glebe Farm. It's completely confidential and the families and children involved are not identified in any way.

The child gets to see Santa and is treated exactly the same as everyone else. It's a simple idea and one that can put a smile on the face of any youngster, when times are hard, this year.

Of course, if you are an organisation not currently in the scheme, Biddulph Rotary Club would like to hear from you as well. Call Mark's Events on 07722 008421.

With Congleton Rotary and Biddulph Rotary joining forces, this means as many kids can have a festive day out - that they weren't expecting - as possible.

Glebe Farm is two miles South of Congleton, via Newcastle Road. The Astbury attraction is located on Peel Lane.
