Residents are being called upon to help spruce up Buglawton.

Congleton in Bloom have invited the local community to take part in the next Town Tidy Day on Saturday, August 1.

Volunteers should meet outside the Church House Pub on Buxton Road at 10am, where they will spend the morning weeding, litter picking and cleaning street furniture to help keep the area looking clean, welcoming and well cared for.

Glen Williams, Congleton's Town Tidy Champion, said: "It's been fantastic to see around 50 volunteers supporting our Town Tidy events so far this year, and we're hoping for another great community turnout.

"Every helping hand makes a real difference. Whether you can spare half an hour, an hour or the whole morning, we'd love to see you in Buglawton."

Congleton is now awaiting the results of the RHS Britain in Bloom UK Finals.

Whatever the outcome, there is already plenty to celebrate, with Congleton Park once again achieving the prestigious Green Flag Award, recognising it as one of the country's best-managed parks.
