Practical garden items made at Adullam's Beech House in Congleton could see a return to production.

Items including attractive markers were created in the studio at Beech House by people benefiting from Adullam's services. They were guided by an activities co-ordinator.

Raised beds were also built on site, thanks to grant funding and donations from builders merchant Jewsons, the William Dean Community Trust and local green space initiatives.

Sales of the garden ornaments and vegetables grown in the raised beds in Congleton helped generate money to fund further activities and training for residents.

The team at Beech House is now investigating getting funding for a new activities co-ordinator, as well as looking into establishing a volunteer network to support the range of activities on offer.

Adullam Homes Housing Association, which supports up to 1,000 people at any one time in England and Wales, is using National Allotments Week to see if gardeners would be interested in buying items like the plant markers, and to invite anyone interested in becoming a volunteer at Beech House, once social distancing is no longer necessary, to get in touch.
