A number of positive Covid-19 cases within Congleton have resulted in some of the town's hospitality venues temporary closing.
Some members of a group that entered several places in Congleton on Saturday have since tested positive for Covid-19.
According to the Ye Olde White Lion the group remained in their bubble and followed the guidelines that the government have laid out.
The Ye Olde White Lion team posted on their Facebook page: "They are all now isolating and have acted with nothing but respect for the community of Congleton.
"They have come forward and reported to all of the places they entered that they have had positive results.
"This group had no symptoms and did not test themselves until Sunday. Therefore they are in no way at fault."
The Ye Olde White Lion have deep cleaned their pub every day and night since re-opening in July to ensure they are as safe as possible.
The public house has also operated as a table service pub with a one-way system since they reopened.
The team continued: "We pride ourselves on how we operate as a business and believe we have always offered one of the safest pub experiences since re-opening.
"The governments advice and direction stated that we could continue being open as long as we had cleaned and all cases were reported correctly."
However, since then the pub has found out that one of their staff members has also tested positive for Covid-19.
The member of staff has not worked since Saturday, but to ensure their staff and customers' safety is more important than any Friday night trade, the pub will be closing today (16 October) to perform a deep clean.
The pub added: "After speaking with the government helplines and looking at government documents we were informed that as long as all staff that were in the area isolate we could continue to trade."
As a result, the pub will be bringing in new temporary staff over the coming days to ensure they continue to operate as safe as possible.
The new staff will only enter the pub once it has been completely de-contaminated and it is deemed a safe workplace.
The original staff will only return once they have either self-isolated for 14 days or have received a test that says they are negative.
The team concluded: "We appreciate that these are hard times and that this is sadly the world we live in now.
"We hope that the Congleton community appreciates that we like all pubs are trying our best and will always carry on doing so."
Landlords at the Cheshire Tavern have taken the decision to close for a precautionary deep clean.
The pub decided to temporarily close due to the group who went in the town last Saturday were tracked and traced.
The group did not visit the West Road premises, but out of concern for the safety and welfare of customers and staff, the pub will be shut today.
Posting a message on Facebook, landlords Matt and Adam Eaton stated that the pub's takeaway and delivery service would still be operating.
The post stated: "Unfortunately we have had to make the decision to close the pub today.
"It has been brought to our attention that an outbreak of Covid has occurred amongst a group that frequented the town on Saturday.
"The said group did not visit the Cheshire Tavern, but we feel it is best we close for the day perform a deep clean as the safety of our customers and staff is of the utmost importance.
"I must stress the group nor the pubs have done anything wrong and they followed all guidance and have been unfortunate.
"We will be continuing with our takeaway collection and delivery service today, it is just the actual pub that will be closed.
"We wish the group a speedy recovery and best wishes from everyone at the Tavern."
Stock At The Pavilion announced yesterday (Thursday) that they had closed for the rest of this week following a positive Covid-19 case for a member of the team.
The team posted on Facebook: "As always we have and will continue to take all the necessary precautions for both our customers and staff which include track and trace and testing.
"We have contacted all customers who manually signed in via track and trace ourselves rather than wait for them to go through the track and trace system.
"We are now waiting for all staff to get test results and this can take a number of days.
"As always, we are putting the well-being of our customers and small loyal team first and following all government guidelines. This is our priority."
Stock At The Pavilion will re-open on Wednesday (21 October).
