Multiple concerns will be raised and discussed on the new Congleton Link Road.

A meeting, hosted by Cheshire's Police and Crime Commissioner John Dwyer, will take place at Congleton Town Hall this month.

The Conservative ex-police officer will speak to the public on Friday July 15 from 5pm to 7pm.

The two hour event will take place at Congleton Town Hall on High Street.

"As a result of the concerns raised with John Dwyer, Police & Crime Commissioner for Cheshire, by local residents about speeding and anti-social behaviour on the Congleton link road, a public meeting has been arranged to discuss these matters and how they're affecting residents in Congleton and the surrounding areas," said Mr Dwyer.

"Residents will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss these issues with a panel comprising of Commissioner John Dwyer and representatives from Cheshire Police and Cheshire East Council.

"If you're unable to attend this meeting and have any questions regarding this issue, or if you would like to send any questions in advance, please send them to [email protected] with the subject 'Congleton Link Road Meeting'."

The Congleton Link Road opened in March 2021. It took two years and close to £90 million pounds to build.

It is also known as Wolstenholme Elmy Way.

In August 2021, Cheshire East Council pledged to include more signage on the road to improve safety.

Congleton Nub News readers cited a lack of lighting and fast drivers as cause for concern earlier this year.

The meeting to discuss problems with the road, comes two months after it was announced to win a slew of awards.

Registration is recommended to give organisers an idea of numbers. You can do so here.
