Police are investigating a 'suspicious incident' in Congleton.

At around 4pm on Friday, October 9, a woman was walking her dog near Dane-in-Shaw Park, close to Congleton Railway Station, when she was approached by an unknown man.

After a brief conversation, the man inappropriately touched the woman.

During the incident, a passing woman came to the victim's aid, and the suspect fled the scene.

Now, Cheshire Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to.

Detective Sergeant Gary Thomas said: "I would like to reassure residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident, and we are doing all we can to trace the person responsible.

"As part of our investigation, I am keen to speak to the man pictured as we believe he may have information that could assist us with our enquiries.

"I would also like to speak to the woman who came to the victim's aid during the incident and would ask her to get in touch with us.
