Police are investigating a potential arson in Congleton.

Emergency services were called to Hillary Avenue in the early hours of Saturday morning (July 19) following reports of two caravans on fire.

It is believed that the blaze may have been started deliberately and as such, police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesperson for the force said: "At 12.47am on Saturday, July 19, police were called to reports of two caravans on fire in Hillary Avenue, Congleton.

"It is believed the fire may have been stated deliberately.

"Anyone with any information should contact Cheshire Police quoting IML-2136355."

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service sent one engine, from the Congleton station, to the scene.

"Firefighters used breathing apparatus and hose reels to extinguish a fire involving two caravans that had spread to a car and a fence," said a CFRS spokesperson.
