Police called after car found 'well alight' in Congleton

A car was found 'well alight' in Congleton.

Emergency services were called to Wood View Row on Wednesday night following reports of a vehicle fire.

Cheshire Police say it is not yet known what caused the blaze.

A spokesperson said: "At 10.30pm on Wednesday, October 15, police were called to reports a car fire on Wood View Row, Congleton.

"The cause of the fire is unknown at this time."

Police were joined at the scene by one Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service engine from the Audlem fire station.

A CFRS spokesperson added: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish a car that was well alight in Congleton.

"Police were also in attendance."
