Police appeal to wedding guests after Hereford cow stolen from farm near Congleton

Wedding guests are being asked to get in touch with police after a cow was stolen from a farm near Congleton.
Between Sunday, September 7, and Tuesday, September 9, a Hereford heifer was taken from a farm in North Rode.
Cheshire Police Rural Crime Team report that this is the third heifer to have been stolen from this farm in recent months.
It is understood a wedding may have been taking place in the area at the time of the latest offence.
PC Rob Stordy said: "We would ask anyone who was attending that wedding, to think back and to report anything they think may be relevant via 101 using the crime reference 25000747078.
"We are working with other forces and the National Rural Crime Team to develop further lines of enquiry.
"In the meantime, we would urge farmers to keep a close eye on their livestock and to report any suspected thefts to us as soon as possible.
"Solar powered/4G CCTV systems have come down in price significantly and may be worth considering to cover gateways.
"It is also worth ensuring access gates are secured with lock and chain as this can help to slow offenders down or put them off all together."
