An 'incredibly dangerous' sex offender has had his prison sentence extended.

Lewis Spencer, formerly of Birch Road in Congleton, will spend a further 10 months behind bars after filming himself carry out sexual acts behind children.

The 24-year-old was initially jailed for two-and-a-half years last May for similar offences – pleading guilty to five counts of sexual assault, seven counts of exposure and possession of extreme pornography.

At that time, the court heard how Spencer was working at a fast food establishment in Macclesfield on December 26, 2023.

The victim, a 21-year-old woman who also worked at the store, began taking a stock count when she noticed Spencer standing close behind her.

The victim had a feeling that Spencer was recording her but continued working, assuming it was nothing.

She then felt Spencer touch her with something, at which point she turned around and Spencer apologised, putting his phone away.

After their shift ended, the victim told her manager who checked CCTV and found Spencer had been carrying out a sexual act behind the victim, without her knowledge.

Following his arrest on December 28, 2023, Cheshire Police officers discovered 17 videos of similar sexual offences on Spencer's phone, all taken between December 10 and December 26, 2023.

On May 14, 2024, he was sentenced to 30 months in prison and ordered to sign the sex offenders register indefinitely.

Detective Inspector Robert Lees said: "Spencer is an incredibly dangerous and perverse individual who preyed on innocent and unwitting women who were simply going about their daily lives.

"He was surreptitious in his actions, with his victims having no idea of the depraved acts he was carrying out."

Spencer's most recent sentence, handed to him at Chester Crown Court on January 2, 2024, relates to two incidents in Congleton.

The first offence occurred on November 17, 2023, and the second on November 23, 2023.

In both cases, Spencer approached the victim, aged 15 and 16 respectively, from behind and carried out a sexual act without their knowledge.

He recorded himself carrying out these acts on his mobile phone.

Spencer was produced from prison and arrested, later being charged with exposure and engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

Judge Simon Berkson sentenced him to an additional 10 months in prison.
