Summer party confirmed for Congleton Park featuring fairground rides, live music and It's a Knockout

Congleton Rotary's Party in the Park promises to be a fun-filled summer afternoon.
It will be the first event of this scale held at Congleton Park since the 750th Charter Year in 2022, which saw a capacity crowd of 5,000 people.
Organiser Eddie Roberts, who will be taking over as Congleton Rotary's president, is on a mission to give something back to the community, which is why this year's event will be free to attend.
It gets underway from midday on Saturday (June 28).
The main event will be an 'It's a Knockout' competition.
Expect fancy dress and slippery foam as a professional team stages a contest based on the classic BBC gameshow.
There is still time to enter a team, which should ideally be made up of around 10 people aged 16 and above.
Full details, including entry forms, can be found at www.congletonrotary.co.uk or by contacting Eddie on 07967 042370 or [email protected].

In addition to the 'Knockout' games, which are planned to start at 2.30 pm, there will be a full programme of music from the bandstand, starting at 12.30 pm.
Congleton Rock Choir will be followed by a choir assembled from primary schools around Congleton, Congleton Youth Orchestra will take over and the afternoon will be rounded off with a disco and a live band from 5.30pm until 6pm.
Caterers have already confirmed their attendance with two burger stalls, a coffee stall and pie man and an ice cream van already booked to attend.
Fairground rides for the youngsters, side stalls and the popular 'Kid's Potting Shed' are planned, together with face-painting and other activities.
Meanwhile, Beartown Brewery has applied for a licence for cocktails and their famous brews, all served from a red double-decker London bus.
There will also be first aid on-site, with additional public toilets brought in for the event.
