Neighbourhoods in Congleton have been blooming

Bromley Bloomers  received an advancing level 3 award and Congleton Lawn Tennis Club are thriving level 4.

Blooming neighbourhoods in Congleton have been recognised with a host of award and commendations.

Months of preparation and hard work from the town's 'It's Your Neighbourhood Groups' clearly impressed National Britain in Bloom judges and they were rewarded with accolades when judging results were announced on Wednesday, 18 October.

Representatives from the groups attended the North West In Bloom awards ceremony in Bolton to discover how they had performed.

Congleton In Bloom Chair, Cllr David Brown said: "We are over the moon with the results, Congleton celebrates amazing success again.

"We were awarded with nine level 5s (Outstanding) the highest award you can get! Aswell as two Level 4s (equivalent to Silver Gilt) and one Level 3 (equivalent to Silver). The standard of our entries just keeps getting higher and higher.

"Well done and congratulations to everyone involved. Back in August, the judges, Bernard Pendleton and Bernard Sheridan assessed the 12 groups. Who were awarded with the following accolades:

Bromley Bloomers

A first time entry for Bromley Bloomers, who received a fantastic level 3 'Advancing' (equivalent to a Silver).

Bromley Farm in Bloom 

Bromley Farm In Bloom Level 5 (Outstanding). A great achievement! Level 5 is the highest award for this IYN group which is mainly helped by their younger keen gardeners and community minded volunteers.

Buglawton In Bloom 

One of the original IYN groups Buglawton In Bloom is still going strong with a very proactive committee and group of volunteers -Level 5 'Outstanding'!

Congleton Bath House & Physic Garden

Awarded Level 5 for the sixth consecutive year. A blooming marvellous result.

Congleton Tennis club

Another first time entry, who wowed the judges and received a Level 4 'Thriving' (equivalent to Silver Gilt).

Friendly Faces Day Nursery 

The children will be celebrating their brilliant achievement getting an amazing Level 5 award.

Friends of Congleton Community Garden 

Friends at the Community Garden scored a Level 5. A brilliant group who meet each week to make the town's little garden superb for all.

Friends of Congleton Park

Were recognised for their outstanding achievements and commitment with a Level 5 for the sixth consecutive year.

Green Gables Care Home

First time entry for Green gables, taking home a Level 4 'Thriving' award.

Hilary Avenue Allotment 

One of the original IYN groups, Hilary Avenue Allotments still going strong with a very proactive committee and group of volunteers -Level 5 'Outstanding'.

The Old Saw Mill (OSM)

OSM Level 5 'Outstanding'. Another successful year for the team. 

Vale Allotments 

Vale allotments scooped a Level 5! A brilliant result for the community plots.

Cllr Brown concluded: "These results just shows what an amazing town and community we have.

"Congleton In Bloom will be holding a thank you evening in Congleton Town Hall to celebrate the fantastic achievement of all the groups and the wonderful volunteers."
