A unique course will help employers and their employees best address mental health issues in Congleton.

A mental health first aid course will take place at Riverside Mill on Congleton's Mountbatten Way.

This course will take place on November 2 and 3 from 9am - 5pm on both days.

The event will cover mental health is and how to challenge stigma, an introduction to some common mental health issues, how to support someone experiencing mental ill health, and ways to look after your own mental health and support wellbeing.

Congleton Riverside Mill training provider Springboard are delivering the course, and had this to say about it.

"The charity MIND estimates one in four of us will experience some kind of mental health problem every year in England, resulting in 70 million sick days during this time - the most of any health condition," said Springboard in a statement.

"Despite this, there is still a stigma towards addressing mental health in the workplace. 90% of people who require a day off work due to stress will feel unable to tell their employer that their mental health is the reason for their absence.

"Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course which teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis.

"We are proud to be collaborating with Live for Work, a licenced MHFA England course provider, in holding one of the first fully updated courses at Riverside Mill in Congleton.

"The new course will feature all the key information about Mental Health issues, with a sharper focus on your role in the workplace as an MHFAider™, plus the latest updated guidance and signposting information.

"Thank you to everyone for your support."

Tickets per delegate cost £280 (minus VAT), with a 5% discount available for multiple bookings.

You can sign up for the course on the form here.

Any enquiries can be called to 01260 290 682.
