A care home's new manager is looking to 'genuinely make a difference'.

Rebecca Murphy has been appointed as care home manager at Priesty Fields Care Home in Congleton, part of Sandstone Care Group.

She brings extensive leadership experience residential, dementia, nursing and extra care services, with a career spanning frontline care, commissioning, turnaround management and regional operations.

Rebecca said: "I wanted to join Priesty Fields, which is close to where I live and a beautiful home, because I feel I could genuinely make a difference. I am always motivated by the opportunity to improve outcomes for residents, support the staff team, and build relationships with families and friends.

"Sandstone's values and ethos really resonate with me. They have been supportive of my management style and encouraged me to bring my own experience and knowledge into the home.

"My role is to ensure Priesty Fields runs smoothly as both a care service and a business, while delivering high-quality, person-centred care where families can feel confident their loved ones' individual needs are being met.

"I'm also grateful to Sandstone for supporting my continued development through a Level 7 qualification in senior management."

Rebecca's journey in care began at a young age, when she was introduced to the sector through a nursing home owner she knew while training horses.

Starting in wellbeing, she progressed into care roles and quickly recognised her ambition to develop professionally within the sector.

After completing her NVQ Level 3, Rebecca advanced into senior and deputy positions before moving into management and completing her NVQ Level 5.

Her career has included emergency response work supporting vulnerable individuals in the community, commissioning new extra care developments for a major housing association, regional support across 12 services, and leading projects for large private providers.

More recently, Rebecca held senior roles supporting services rated as requiring improvement or inadequate, as well as commissioning and stabilising new-build homes.

Lucy Holl, chief executive of Sandstone Care, said: "Rebecca brings exceptional experience, resilience and compassion to Priesty Fields. Her track record in service improvement, commissioning and turnaround leadership speaks for itself, and she shares our commitment to high-quality, compassionate care.

"We are already seeing the impact of Rebecca's leadership within the home, and we are delighted to support her as she continues to strengthen Priesty Fields for residents, families and colleagues alike."
