East Cheshire's leading community basketball club has a new identity.

Congleton Grizzlies have officially rebranded and will henceforth be known as East Cheshire Knights.

This change looks to aid the club's long-term vision, with plans to elevate the sport locally by attracting more players, volunteers and supporters from across the borough

Club leadership said: "This rebrand marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

"The Knights represent who we are becoming — a forward‑thinking, inclusive, and ambitious club that champions every player.

"We're proud of our Grizzlies heritage, and we're even more excited about the future we're building together as East Cheshire Knights."

The decision to rebrand as East Cheshire Knights follows months of consultation, planning and strategic review.

It is hoped this change will expand the club's reach and help to support long-term development pathways.

Furthermore, current members have been promised enhanced training programmes, improvements to club structure, and greater opportunities for tournaments, community events and partnerships.

Looking ahead, the Knights will begin rolling out new branding, kits and digital platforms over the coming weeks.
