There's big plans at Congleton High School.

The academy wants to expand its classroom facilities and provide a new dining hall (canteen) for pupils and staff.

To achieve this, it is proposed to erect two separate buildings on the school site.

That's according to a planning application on the Cheshire East Council website, set to be determined on March 8 2023.

The dining hall will be moved eight metres west - if approved - and a classroom block moved north of the car park.

The block would provide ten classrooms plus a small meeting room and office. The new block will be on a disued playing field. And the new canteen would come with toilets as well as a new kitchen, servery and food store. The dining hall would be south of the sports centre, and west to the mains chool building.

Residents can voice their opinions until February 2.
