McDonald's stops walk-in takeaway services during lockdown

The measure has been taken following lockdown.

If you are thinking of popping into the McDonald's in Congleton for a walk-in takeaway - don't.

The fast food chain has announced that all its 1,300 restaurants across the country have been closed for walk-in takeaways.

But the chain will remain open for drive-through and delivery but customers will no longer be allowed inside stories to place orders, even if they are taking them out, following the announcement of the new national pandemic lockdown.

The company says it has taken the step while it reviews and reassesses safety procedures.
