Air ambulance called to Astbury after car overturns

Emergency services were called to the scene of an accident on a Astbury road which left a vehicle overturned.

Paramedics, police and firefighters were deployed to Dodds Lane, in Astbury, following the incident that took place around 8.15am this morning (January 6).

A North West Air Ambulance was also called to the scene. Fire crews from Congleton and Alsager attended the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, a woman, was checked over, but did not require hospital treatment.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called at 8.13am today (Wednesday 6 January) following reports of a collision involving a black MG ZS Exclusive which had overturned on Dodds Lane, Astbury.

"The driver of the vehicle, a woman was checked over at the scene by paramedics.

"Road closures were in place on Dodds Lane at the junction of The Flash and Peel Lane but the road reopened at around 9.15am."

An Alsager Fire Station spokesperson said: "We have just attended an RTC in the Astbury area.

"Thankfully despite initial reports there were no serious injuries. The roads are still very icy this morning."

A North West Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 8.15am to reports of an overturned car on Dodds Lane.

"An ambulance, response car and air ambulance were all mobilised to the scene. We however were not required to take anyone to hospital."
