Fiona Bruce MP attended events in Parliament raising awareness of dementia and backing the Reading Agency's 'Reading Well for dementia' programme in Parliament.

Fiona Bruce said: "As a Dementia friend, I care deeply ensuring everyone gets the diagnosis and care they need to support them in living with dementia.

"This is a condition which touches the lives of so many of us and it is great to be able to stand in solidarity this week with all those affected."

Dementia is a huge issue in the UK and for the Congleton constituency - by 2025 there will be over one million people living with dementia in the UK.

There are about 700,000 unpaid carers for people with dementia with one in three people finding themselves caring for a person with dementia in their lifetime.

Fiona added: "I am grateful to all the people and organisations who have contributed to Dementia Action Week to help us all understand both the importance of improving our diagnosis rates across the UK as well as how best to support those living with dementia. "
