Local author needs your help to make One Night in Beartown a reality!

By Guest 22nd Jun 2020

Local award-winning children's author Nick Jones is back with a new story for kids, and this time it's set in Congleton!

The story centres around a little girl who is obsessed with bears, and one night her teddy bear comes to life, along with the bear statue in Buglawton and all the Bearmania bears that are dotted around the town.

We won't ruin the story by saying anything else other than this is a magical tale that is reminiscent of Raymond Brigg's The Snowman and will surely ignite some imaginations amongst the kids (and parents!) of Congleton.

But Nick Jones needs your help! He needs to raise £3500 to fund the illustrations (by his award-winning collaborator Si Clark), the printing fees and initial marketing costs, so he is taking pre-orders via a Kickstarter campaign.

As well as offering pre-orders, Nick is also encouraging local businesses that sponsored the original Bearmania bears to help fund the book.

In return their bear will feature prominently in the illustrations and they will also be included in the Thank You section.

For more information and to pledge your support, please visit the Kickstarter page or read Nick's blog.
