Five local giftmakers from Congleton are returning to a nearby town in time for Christmas.

The collective of candlemakers to ceramic artists call themselves The Fabulous Five. Two of the traders are from West Heath, two from Congleton town centre, and one from the parish of Somerford.

They took over the space called Macc Pop-up inside Macclesfield's Grosvenor Shopping Centre for a week in August.

It exceeded both their own the Grosvenor's expectations, and was a rousing success, so much so they were instantly invited back for later in the year.

And now that time as come, as The Fabulous Five will become The Festive Five with a pop-up shop this November.

The all-female line-up of business are; Jenny Drew of Little Jen Jewellery, Clare Watson from Knotting Special, Fiona Crownshaw and Sarah Dickinson from Cutch Company, Sonia Bailey from Aglaea Jewels, and Laura Beech from Laura Jane Ceramics.

They will even be open for the Macclesfield Christmas lights switch on November 26, and November 27's festive Treacle Market.

Other products sold will be locally-made reed diffusers and artsy wooden boards. They will open on the morning of Monday November 21 - that is next week.

Jewellery-maker Jenny Drew from Little Jen Jewellery said: "The main thing I'd want to say is to thank people so much for their support in the summer and that we can't wait to see them again with our amazing handmade gift ranges!"

"The comments we had from customers were so lovely and definitely inspired us to want to come back.

"I think people responded well to meeting the makers and seeing us be creative. We're so pleased to be open during the towns Christmas Lights Switch on and Treacle Market.

"It just shows that having shops on the High Street, particularly small independent ones, is still important to people and with help from landlords and local councils, we can revive the High Street and make town centres thriving places again!

The businesses are still looking for an opportunity in their hometown of Congleton, so please get in touch with one of them if a landowner can provide this.

Macc Pop-up is a temporary shop providing flexible & affordable space for independent businesses in the heart of Macclesfield.

If you are interested in leasing it for your company, please email [email protected].
