Huge 1920s-themed event to be held in Congleton Park this Spring Bank Holiday Monday
Congleton Town Council will be staging a 1920s-themed event in the park on Spring Bank Holiday Monday (May 27), commemorating 100 years of the Congleton War Memorial Hospital.
This institution has provided outstanding care and support to Congleton since 1924.
Running from 12pm to 5pm, Congleton Town Council has invited everyone to come along and enjoy a day filled with fun, nostalgia, and free entertainment.
Organiser, town Centre and events officer, Rachel McCarthy, told Nub News: "Our community owes so much to the Congleton War Memorial Hospital since its establishment in 1924 and this event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate its incredible legacy.
"We encourage everyone to join in the festivities and be part of this historic occasion.
"Gather up your friends and family for a day to remember.
"If you don't get chance to pack a picnic you can pick from a wide range of food and drink stalls on offer."
This free entry event promises a vibrant mix of activities transporting people back to the Roaring Twenties and includes:
- Live Music and Entertainment: Pomp and ceremony from Silk Brass Band, lively 1920s tunes from Swingamathing and party favourites from Churnet Sound Radio
- RSPCA Dog Show: Enter your furry friends for just £2 and compete for the top spot
