An event will take place at Congleton Town Hall next month to help the elderly and residents with vulnerabilities who are frequently targeted by scammers.

Age UK Cheshire East is running a free "We Need to Talk About Scams" event on Tuesday, 3 October, from 3.30pm to 5pm to help protect them.

Families and friends of those who may be vulnerable are invited to attend.

A spokesperson from congleton Town Council said: "This is a unique opportunity to hear from Trading Standards, Cheshire Police, Age UK Cheshire East, the Cooperative Bank and more about how to keep yourself and others safe from scams and fraud – all under one roof in one afternoon."
