Your furry friends are in safe hands with a new cattery.

Cats Away in Eaton has welcomed its first guests.

The cattery is run by Scarlett Ferrario and her family – husband Jack, mum Donna and dad Paul.

It was their love of animals and the countryside that drove them to purchase Brick Bank Farm as a joint venture.

Scarlett said: "We all have a love for cats and when we moved to the farm we fell in love with the area.

"This made us realise our idea of opening a cattery would be perfect, as it is the perfect location – easy to get to but also amazing views, surroundings and space.

"We are really looking forward to delivering the best service that a cattery can do to cat owners across Cheshire and beyond."

Scarlett's parents have always had cats and have rescued hundreds of small animals over the years.

In fact, donna's first job was a kennel maid.

Today, the couple have a range of pets on their non-working farm, including sheep, goats, pigs, alpacas and rescued donkeys.

Jack, meanwhile, grew up with animals and wanted to be a vet from a young age, which he went on to achieve ten years ago, specialising in small animals.

Thanks to this, Scarlett and the team are confident in caring for cats with any conditions, administering medications at no extra cost.

She said: "Rather than offering the basics of food, water, clean space and being checked on, we offer a pre-board meeting.

"Owners can come and visit us, see the cattery beforehand and let us know how they would like their cat's suite to be 'kitted out' with regards to beds, toys, layout etc.

"This gives us a better idea of what the cat needs in order to fully enjoy their time here."

Cats Away has a huge variety of beds, toys and blankets to suit each cat as well as range of quality food options to save owners bringing their own.

Those wanting to spoil their pets whilst they're on their holidays can add an optional 'afternoon tea' of white fish, chicken, Applaws.

On top of all this, Cats Away also offer a home pick-up and drop-off service as well as regular photo and video updates.

The cattery officially opened for business on Wednesday, September 17, and has already garnered a lot of interest – mainly for the October half term and Christmas period.

If this wasn't enough reason to celebrate, they were recently awarded a four-star cat boarding licence by DEFRA, the highest a cattery can achieve in its first year of opening.

Scarlett said: "We are so proud of this as we have put a lot of work into the cattery and still are doing, so any award is nice!"
