A charity foundation, that was set up shortly after a teen passed away following a tragic car crash in Astbury, has raised over £14,000.

Georgia Ogden, 17, was killed on her dad's 50th birthday when the Suzuki Swift in which she was travelling as a passenger crashed into the HGV in Astbury, Cheshire, on June 25 2020.

Following this, the Georgia Leigh Ogden Foundation, founded by Congleton parents Mandy, Mark and Josh Ogden, was established.

Last month, the team hosted a Glitz & Glamour event to support families and children across Cheshire with a range of needs and requirements.

They have raised thousands of pounds at a variety of events hosted since the passing of Georgia.

These events have raised funds for a range of causes, as the team explained: "We helped several families across East Cheshire and Staffordshire in 2021 and 2022. This ranged from a medical skull helmet for a child, a specialised swing for a child from Congleton, to activities and literature for Congleton charity Friends for Leisure.

"Other recent local projects include securing equipment for Congleton's Ruby's Fund, and a bubble wall for a family with autistic children.

"This is all thanks to the generous donations to the foundation."

A fantastic night was had by all 215 guests who attended the fundraiser at the De Vere Cranage Estate, Knutsford. To set the Glitz and Glamour theme guests were met with a number of luxury sports cars at the entrance, provided by the Supercar Society UK. GL Equine Photography donated her time by snapping some super photos of the glamorous guests arriving and captured some great action shots of the amazingly talented SDA (Street Dance Academy, Sandbach) and Pole Gym based in Holmes Chapel who provided some of the evening's amazing entertainment.

On behalf of Mandy, Mark and Josh Ogden, a huge thank you goes to all the companies who generously sponsored a table or the event, with special thanks going to The Added Extra for supplying the light up GEE and more, and to Ballucci Cheshire for their stunning balloon displays and room decor again this year. The WOW factor was most definitely achieved, and the Glitz and Glamour theme was a spectacular success!

During the evening guests were entertained during their meal by the wonderful voice of Heidi Pheasey who was later joined by talented Will Bours as they belted out some awesome duets and solos.

Following a delicious three-course meal, Helen Millward and Sheryl Craddock entertained guests with some great fundraising games which proved very successful again this year. Kirsten Barton helped run the raffle with over 50 fantastic prizes, many of which, were kindly donated by our local businesses and individuals. A mention must go to Karen Dudley of 'Karens Creations' who donated the beautifully delicious 'Gee' themed cake.

Although the ball was an amazingly successful night it is bittersweet, especially for Gee's family, when looking around the room and seeing all of their friends who have come together for the event, it makes them realise just how much support they truly have, especially from those who make up 'Gee's Team' who help arrange the fundraising event.

Follow their recent success, the team added: "We are incredibly proud to announce the final amount raised from our Glitz & Glamour fundraising ball in memory of Gee.

"As always the success of our ball feels bittersweet and had 'Gee' still been with us we probably wouldn't even contemplate doing something like this but she has been taken away through no fault of her own and we will be forever broken.

"Our fundraising events are what help us through this absolute nightmare by turning something so tragic into helping those in need in and around our community in her memory and your support allows us to continue doing this."
