Former Cheshire Tavern relaunches as The Orange Tree
The Orange Tree Bar & Grill has opened in Congleton nearly a year after the former pub closed.
Parogon Group, which owns restaurants throughout Staffordshire, Shropshire and Cheshire acquired the venue, previously known as The Cheshire Tavern, early this year.
Now, the new restaurant and grill has launched as The Orange Tree.
Founded in 2007, Staffordshire-based Parogon Group has multiple venues across Staffordshire, Cheshire and Shropshire, including the hugely successful Willow at Trentham and The Swan with Two Necks.
Parogon carefully selects individual, iconic landmark sites for its pub restaurants, which it transforms into stunning contemporary venues. The company's aim is to provide fantastic restaurants for local and surrounding communities to visit, where they can enjoy great food and drinks.
'The Cheshire Tavern' closed its doors in July 2022 as the previous tenants left, and the site was acquired by Parogon Group in December last year.
The £1m refurbishment of the venue was scheduled to begin in April 2023, with the venue expected to reopen in the summer. Despite delays, the team have managed to get the venue ready for the festive period.
Finally, the doors to The Orange Tree opened on Tuesday 18 November, with the team taking to social media to share their success.
They said: "After months of extensive refurbishment and dedicated hard work, The Orange Tree, Congleton, is ready to welcome you with open arms. Great tasting food, instagrammable cocktails and attentive service all in luxurious surroundings, The Orange Tree has it all.
"We can't wait to celebrate this momentous occasion with you!"
