By Tom Avery 26th Sep 2020

Fumes from cooking caused a smoke alarm to be activated at a Congleton property.

Shortly before 10pm last night (Friday), firefighters were notified of a smoke alarm sounding at an occupied domestic property in Swaledale Avenue, Congleton.

On arrival the crew discovered that fumes from cooking had activated the alarm. One fire engine from Congleton attended.

There was light smoke logging in the property.

Firefighters used a large fan to clear the property of smoke and were in attendance for around 20 minutes.
