Firefighters extinguish large fire in the open in Congleton

Firefighters extinguished a large fire in the open in Congleton yesterday (Sunday), which approximately measured 50 metres by 20 metres.

At 1:30m yesterday (Sunday), firefighters were dispatched to reports of a fire in the open on Church Lane, Congleton.

On arrival firefighters from Macclesfield and Congleton found a fire in a field measuring approximately 50 metres by 20 metres.

Firefighters used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire and were detained at the scene for around two hours.

Two fire engines attended, one from Congleton and one from Macclesfield.
