Firefighters extinguish dishwasher fire at Congleton property

A dishwasher which caught fire at a Congleton property was extinguished and removed by firefighters.

Firefighters were called to a dishwasher fire at an address in Wiltshire Drive, Congleton, shortly before 8pm last night (Thursday).

A fire engine from Congleton and Alsager attended the scene.

The fire was extinguished by the occupant using a dry powder extinguisher and firefighters used breathing apparatus and disconnected the dishwasher.

Firefighters then used a large fan to disperse the smoke and removed the appliance from the kitchen.
