Eaton Bank Academy is celebrating the achievements of its year 13 students.

Pupils at the Jackson Road sixth form collected their A-level results on Thursday, August 13.

The young adults are now preparing to take the next steps in their careers, with many heading to top universities across the country.

Headteacher Ed O'Neill said: "Congratulations to all our year 13 students at Eaton Bank Academy on their A-level results.

"This has been an important milestone and a chance to celebrate not only their academic achievements, but the determination and commitment they have shown throughout their sixth form journey.

"My thanks also go to the staff whose expertise, encouragement and support have helped students reach this point.

"We are extremely proud of our young people and wish them every success as they move on to university, apprenticeships, employment and the many exciting opportunities ahead."

One of many success stories is Seth Storer, who managed A* grades in biology and physics, alongside A's in chemistry and maths.

He will study medicine at Keele University, taking the first step towards his ambition of becoming a doctor.

Inspired by his work experience as a medical first aid responder, Seth hopes eventually to specialise in anaesthesia and critical care.

Also excelling in science and maths is Lucas Benson, who secured an A* in maths and A's in further maths and physics.

He will be going on to study physics at Lancaster University.

Meanwhile, a career working with animals will take Georgina Taylor to the University of Nottingham, where she will study animal science as the first step towards becoming an animal physiotherapist.

Students are also pursuing their interests in politics and international affairs, with Jess Banks and Mia Linney both going on to study international relations.

Jess will take up her place at the University of Leeds, while Mia heads to Durham.

Following her degree, Mia hopes to study for a master's, with the long-term goal of working abroad in a diplomacy-related role.

Looking back on her time at Eaton Bank, she said: "It's been really great, you get properly nurtured, the teachers really know you. It's a huge advantage."

Geography is another popular choice, with Charlie Hodgson and Lilly Mathie both achieving top A grades.

Charlie will study at the University of Sheffield, with ambitions of a career in the environmental sector, while Lilly will continue her studies at the University of Liverpool.

Reflecting on his time in the sixth form, Charlie said: "In the Sixth Form you have really good relationships with teachers, it's a tight knit group and everyone gets on together."

For Matilda Germaney, a long-standing interest in history and archaeology will now become the focus of her university studies.

She will study ancient history and archaeology at Royal Holloway, with ambitions of pursuing a career in archaeology.

Director of sixth form, Stephen Jenkins, said: "Results day was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our students and the journey they have taken throughout their time in the sixth form.

"Whatever path our students choose next, they should take great pride in how far they have come.

"We wish them every success as they move on to university, apprenticeships, employment and the many exciting opportunities ahead."
