Driver taken to hospital with 'serious' injuries after crash in Congleton

A driver has been left with 'serious' injuries following a crash in Congleton.
Emergency services were called to Holmes Chapel Road on Saturday morning, March 7, following reports of a crash in which a Peugeot 3008 collided with a wall.
The driver had to be freed from their vehicle using specialist equipment before being taken to hospital.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "At 9.37am on March 7 police were called to a collision on Holmes Chapel Road in Congleton.
"A Hyundai Kona and a Peugeot 3008 were in collision and the Peugeot collided with a wall.
"The driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
"Anyone with information can contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 2284123."
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service sent two engines, one each from the Congleton and Macclesfield stations, to the scene at 9.41am.
"Crews were called to reports of a collision involving two vehicles near a main roundabout in Congleton," said a CFRS spokesperson.
"One car had impacted a wall and a casualty was released using specialist cutting equipment.
"They required first aid from firefighters before being handed to the care of ambulance colleagues.
"The road was closed for around an hour while they dealt with the incident."
