A drink driver was caught twice over the limit.

David Nicholas Robinson has been banned from driving for 20 months.

The 49-year-old Congleton resident was caught driving a Seat Arona along Sandbach Road in Brereton on September 28, 2024.

At this time, he had 194 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his blood.

This is more than double the legal limit of 80 milligrams.

Robinson, of Stirling Close, appeared at Crewe Magistrates Court on Monday, December 30, where he pleaded guilty to one charge of drink driving.

For this he was disqualified from driving for 20 months.

This can be reduced by 20 weeks if he completes a course by February 11, 2026.

Robinson will also have to pay a £675 fine along with costs of £85 and a £270 surcharge.
