A fundraiser for a Congleton furry friend has launched, after he was lucky to avoid death.

Congleton residents Vera Dudek and Lioba Dudek have launched a gofundme page after their cat Bobby was hit by a car.

His jaw took the most damage, and the pair need a little help covering the vet bills for their feline.

They require £1000 to cover the costs, for which they have raised £745 for thus far.

Vera said: "My gorgeous boy Bobby was hit by a car and we desperately need help to cover his vet bill.

"He has lost his right eye but we still don't know the severity of his broken jaw. Any help would be greatly appreciated, even a share will go a mile! Thank you!"

43 people have donated to the gofundme so far.

This means the average person has donated £17.32 so far.

According to insurers PetPlan, 230,000 cats are hit by a road vehicle in the UK. That is 630 per day.

No criminal criminal charges can be made to the driver.
