Covid-19 vaccinations to commence at Congleton Town Hall

By Tom Avery 7th Jan 2021

Covid-19 vaccinations will begin at the Congleton Town Hall tomorrow (8 January) for patients registered with GP surgeries in Congleton and Holmes Chapel.

Those who originally had appointments arranged for today (Thursday) have been swapped to Saturday.

Patients will be directed into the Cotton Club for registration unless they are wheelchair users.

Wheelchair users will be directed through the foyer. Marshall's will be present to ensure patients have a safe, social distanced visit.

Residents have been asked to attend at the time of their appointment, and not to arrive early and "face a cold wait".

Jackie MacArthur, communities and marketing manager and deputy chief officer for Congleton Town Council, posted on social media: "Please wrap up warm, but be mindful that in the vast majority of cases you will need to expose an arm - so it may be easier to wear cardigans than over the head jumpers.

"The GP practices will contact people as more vaccines become available and are following Government guidance as to which patients should be vaccinated as a priority."
