It is not often Congleton Town Council hires, but when they do, be sure it will be a hotly-contested job.

Our town's smallest form of government is after a Congleton Partnership – Communities Officer.

They'll work under Congleton Partnership, the regeneration arm of our town.

You'll be one of few paid staff in the volunteer organisation to utilise the skills of local residents, for the greater good of Congleton.

Do you have any experience in Project Management? This could be the job for you.

Our town council said: "The Congleton Partnership Communities Officer is a varied and challenging role which would suit someone with strong project management and administrative skills who enjoys working with a wide range of people and is committed to improving the quality of life for all people in Congleton."

"The role is 21 hours a week and, apart from some key meetings and events, the hours can be flexible to suit the successful candidate. The post is funded by Congleton Town Council.

"The successful candidate will work at least some of the time in the Town Hall [on High Street] and will have the same terms, conditions and pension as Town Council staff."

The Part Time job pays £22,627 – £24,491 Full Time Equivalent

You'll have leadership skills, data evaluation skills, and able to use social media.

It would be ideal if you have a great relationship with Congleton community groups or dealing with the media, please mention that in your application.

Communication skills, contract work and co-operating with the Cheshire East Partnership officers in neighbouring towns is also essential.

There will be the occasional evening and weekend work, but you will be doing less hours than a standard 9-5 job!
