Coronavirus Crisis: Congleton Events Continue To Be Called Off

A number of events and meetings are being called off in the Congleton area as a result of the Coronavirus spread.

The Congleton Litter Pick planned for the 21st March as part of National Spring Clean has been cancelled.

All social events and large gatherings in Congleton Town Hall are being cancelled and where possible rescheduled.

Congleton Town Council will be monitoring the situation but have advised residents to assume that all events up until the 8th of June scheduled for the Town Hall are not happening, with the exception of blood sessions which will continue if the NHS wishes to continue using the building.

The cancelled events include the Mayor's Ball (April 4th) Annual Town Meeting (April 30th) and Mayor Making (14th May)

The town council has received a number of calls about 'Chubby Brown' who was due to perform in the Town Hall on the 20th March.

This has been rescheduled for the 1st August.

Congleton Library have today announced that all events have been cancelled for the foreseeable future.

This morning's Just Yoga beginners class at St John's Community Centre in Buglawton was cancelled.

Following the latest advice from the UK government, Congleton Hydro have made the difficult decision to cancel the information event planned for 18th March at 7pm.

The pie and pea supper evening on 20th March from 8pm to midnight at The Masonic Hall, Mill Street, Congleton, to raise funds for Congleton's War Memorial Hospital has been cancelled.

The Old Saw Mill's Paddies Night on 20th March and market event on 21st March have both been cancelled.

Beartown Amateur Boxing Club have decided to suspend all classes with immediate effected due to coronavirus outbreak.
