Congleton: Views to take away the blues, by local photographer Mark Sandbach

Local photographer Mark Sandbach will be becoming a regular contributor to our growing community and his beautiful photos will no doubt lift the hearts in these difficult times.

Here is a little profile from Mark:

I'm 47 and Congleton born and bred. I currently live a few miles down the road in Gillow Heath with my wife and son.

I have always enjoyed taking and creating photos, I remember developing negatives in the dark rooms back in the 1980's!

As life and work commitments took over the photography took a back seat.

It wasn't until 2012 following a mental health breakdown that I decided to pick up my camera again.

I found that the camera allowed me to stay in the moment, (akin to mindfulness therapy), and helped me get back to nature again.

I love nothing more than grabbing my camera and going for a walk, we are so lucky to live in an area of such beauty, we can wander up the cloud, walk along the old railway tracks to Biddulph or just sit in our gardens and observe the birds building their nests ready for their young. Simple pleasures.

I'm so excited to be asked to share my photos with you on Congleton Nub News.

You will find my interests are varied, some landscapes, some birds and some flowers - the bluebells are my current favourites.

I just hope that my photos provide you with a little enjoyment and a rest from the current worries of the world.
