If you are sick of never-arriving parcels and letters being delivered days after they were due, you can try to solve Congleton's Royal Mail crisis today.

They're now hiring post people who can drive, according to a search on the Royal Mail website.

No vacancies were listed on the site during our checks during our previous two articles on the matter.

However a vacancy has now cropped up, and can be applied for here.

The news comes in the week it was revealed that nationally, staff absence levels are almost double what they were three years ago.

The Congleton Postperson vacancy requires 28 hours per week, with the possibility of Monday to Sunday shifts spread across five days.

It pays £10.85 per hour for those 18+ and over, but as it is open to anyone who can drive, 17-year-olds can apply as well.

However, they will be remunerated with. £8.44 per hour.

As a perk work working on Sunday, you'll get an additional £5.83 per hour Sunday premium, regardless of your age, a weekly supplement of £26.61 (pro rata) and in some locations an area allowance is payable.

Your basic pay can also increase every six months, on review.

Working from Congleton's Delivery Office at CW12 4ZZ, you'll be sorting and then delivering mail to our town.

You'll spend about six hours of your shift in the van. The rest at the Royal Mail office.

But don't think you'll be solving the Christmas postal crisis, as interviews won't be held until January 4.

Multiple applicants may be chosen for the role, depending on the quality.

No previous experience in delivery is required.

You can apply for the role and read more about it here.
