Officers have issued a warning to Congleton residents that the gaining of access to any construction site is "trespassing" and "dangerous".

Officers highlighted that this was the "case even there is a gap in the fencing or construction looks complete".

A Congleton Police spokesperson said: "Over the years many people in the UK have died as a result of accidents at construction sites, and many more have sustained serious injuries.

"Please avoid accessing any construction sites (like the new link road or any of the new housing estates in and around Congleton) for your safety and the safety of others."
