A pub in Congleton has applied to alter a section of its premises licence, meaning that children will have to vacate the venue by 9.30pm unless they are eating.

This week, JD Wetherspoon plc submitted a premises licence application on behalf of its premises at The Counting House, Swan Bank.

The premises licence application reads: "TAKE notice that JD Wetherspoon plc has made an application under section 41A of the Licensing Act 2003 for a minor variation to the premises licence for The Counting House, 18 Swan Bank, Congleton, CW12 1AH. The application seeks to vary the wording of Condition 1 in Annex 2 - Conditions consistent with the operating schedule to now read as follows:

  • All children must vacate the premises by 2130 unless they are eating, in which case they will be required to vacate the premises by 2200. There are no further changes to the Premises Licence.

"Representations shall be made in writing to the below address on or before the following date: 5 September 2024."

You can also submit your representation by emailing: [email protected].
