Congleton High School is celebrating a 'brilliant' set of results this year.

The school was a 'scene of celebrations' as students came in this morning (Thursday 22 August) to pick up their GCSE results.

It was a standout day for Becky Lin, who achieved no less than five grade 9s (the highest possible grade), and five grade 8s.

Other top performers were: Farai Taderara, who achieved five Grade 9s, three grade 8s, and one grade 6; Barney Mitcheson, who achieved three grade 9s, four grade 8s, and two grade 6s; and Olly Payne, who achieved two grade 9s, five grade 8s, and three grade 7s.

A spokesperson for the school said: "The entire Congleton High School community is incredibly proud of its students, many of whom are now looking forward to starting their A Levels at the school's sixth form.

"These results are a testament to students' tenacity and continued hard work throughout the year, and during their entire secondary school life."

Heidi Thurland, Headteacher at Congleton High School, added: "We are absolutely delighted with the achievements of each and every one of our students.

"Behind every grade is a story of hard work, courage and resilience. Our students are going on to fantastic futures with many choosing to join our 6th Form College. We are so proud of them; it has been our privilege to help shape them into the amazing young adults they are today.

"I would like to take this opportunity to wish each of our students every success in their futures. For those who are coming to our Sixth Form College, we cannot wait to see you."
