Following a number of virtual meetings with key parties, Congleton Pride are delighted to announce that they have pencilled in a date for next year's event.

After the disappointment of having to cancel this year's Pride, the team dusted off the Covid-19 blues to talk business with Congleton Town Council and all their sponsors via Zoom. Congleton Pride 2021 will take place on Saturday 17th July.

Richard Walton, a Congleton Pride Trustee, told Nub News: "We all needed something positive to look forward to, so we are delighted to be in the position to announce next year's date.

"We took a little bit of down time after the implications of Covid-19, but we wanted to start moving forward and get next year's event booked into the ever-growing civic diary.

"We cannot thank the town council for all their support, they've been excellent. We would also like to thank the sponsors and benefactors, who have rolled the money over to next year, which we are incredibly grateful for.

"Donations are always welcome, but we are in a very lucky position to already have all the funds in place ahead of next year."

Any stall holders/ performers/ food vendors who booked for 2020, will have their stall already rolled over for next year.

However, if you are unable to attend this date or want further information please email the team at [email protected]

Mr Walton told Nub News that Congleton Pride's big focus between now and next year's event was to develop the "whole Congleton Pride event into a movement".

Mr Walton added: "We will be putting a lot of time into developing our website and providing education/support around the LGBT culture."
