An exciting new chapter is about to begin in the life of a market space in Congleton.

The town is getting ready to welcome a brand-new artisan style market with the launch of the Congleton Market Quarter (CMQ) at 12pm on Friday, 17 November 2023.

A major project has been undertaken to reshape the town's landscape and rekindle its spirit in the market making it the beating heart of the town.

Situated between Princess Street and Mill Street, Congleton Market Quarter will host a collection of bars, eateries, workspaces, artisan markets and outdoor spaces.

This week's Grand Opening, officiated by the town mayor, will unveil a vibrant community space that promises to redefine the town centre and market for the benefit of Congleton's residents and businesses.

The grand opening weekend is packed with exciting activities. For the first time, all CMQ vendors will be operational, showcasing a diverse range of products and services.

The celebration continues with our inaugural independent market on Saturday from 10am to 4pm, followed by the Sunday Service acoustic session from 7pm to 9pm. These events will become regular weekly fixtures, alongside CMQ's 'Totally Tenner Wednesday', offering selected dishes and drinks for just £10.

Finally, there will be Christmas markets on the last Friday of every month on the run up to Christmas from 24 November, 1, 8 and 15 December! These are night markets that are running from 4-9pm.

To commemorate the launch, CMQ is introducing exclusive app launch offers for subscribers, including buy-one-get-one-free (BOGOF) pizza and cocktails, free samosas, and other delightful treats.

A spokesperson for the CMQ team said:"'This is the start of a journey for the CMQ. A vision to redefine the town centre and market for the benefit of all the people and businesses of the town."

CMQ's launch aligns with the Congleton Totally Locally initiative, emphasising the support and collaboration with local businesses, further strengthening the town's economic and social fabric.
