Congleton man to start new weightloss group in a matter of days

A weightloss champion from Congleton is to start a new support group next week.
Simon Longden-Kirk who runs the Tuesday morning Slimming World groups at Congleton Cricket Club is opening a brand-new 8:00am group this week at the same venue.
This will be the earliest morning group Congleton Slimming World has ever offered.
You may know Simon from his days at the old Heathfield High School in Congleton and Black Firs Primary School of Longdown Road.

Now, the weightloss expert will aim to help others lose pounds at the Booth Street venue.
This new group will be ideal for those looking to get to group before they start work, after dropping the kids off or are working from home.
The first session will be on Tuesday 14th March 8:00am.
Simon's groups now meet every Tuesday 8:00am and at the pre-existing session of 9:30am at the Congleton sporting venue.

You can contact Simon on 07368303882 or follow the group on Facebook here.
You could be eligible to attend three months of the sessions for free, if you call 0808 1643 202 to find out more.
"I started as a consultant in January and have been running my own groups for the last six weeks. With 63% of the UK's adult population obese, I would like to help as many as possible lose weight and achieve their weight loss dreams.
"I want to show that men can do it too, but everyone is welcome at the group.

"Home is always the hustle and bustle of everyone's day even after eight-to-ten hours of work. Our house is just the same for myself and my husband. With all this activity, before I joined Slimming World meals became something of an afterthought and at times it was much easier to grab the phone to order a takeaway instead of cooking as both of us were not in the mood or feeling exhausted.
"Soon this began to take its toll on me, and I was putting on weight.
"This affected my sleep pattern and I would wake at least 3 times per night. My Clothes were not fitting, and I started to hate the way I looked.
"Self-love needed to take over and I decided to do something about my health and weight. I had tried all different diet plans which I would only complete for a few weeks and then give up as they were faddy or not sustainable . I needed something that meant i can eat food that i enjoyed and never go hungry but still help to be happier and healthier. I had attended Slimming World in the past and with success. Sadly, life got in the way, and I stopped going.
"As I knew, Slimming World worked, I decided to give it another go. I found my nearest group and signed up. it was daunting, when going to somewhere new and I didn't really know anyone. I'm not the outgoing type at first so I was a little nervous about walking in. Would I be the only male? How big is the group going to be? Do I have to talk to anyone else? Let's just say I was nervous.

"Thankfully, I had nothing to worry about a very friendly face welcomed me and introduced herself as the consultant. She immediately made me feel welcomed and at ease.
"Every week, my confidence grew, the group were so supportive which gave me even more confidence and was soon supporting other new members that felt the same.
"Every week, I was seeing a difference in my weight; the pounds were dropping off. Every week my group would celebrate successes and shared tips which motivates everyone in our group. It inspired me to want to help others.
"Over the last 12 months, I have lost 3st 8.5lbs, can now fit into a 32 inch waist pair of jeans and wear medium tops instead of extra-large.
"Just a few simple swaps can go a long way. Because of my success, and my passion for helping others I've now trained to become a local Slimming World Consultant and have launched my very own group at Congleton Cricket Club.
"I look forward to welcoming you."
