Congleton: Man arrested after being caught red-handed by police trying to break into a property

A man has been arrested after attempting a number of break-ins at properties in Congleton last night.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "Special Inspector Hibbert and Macclesfield Police officers descended on an area of Congleton following multiple 999 calls reporting someone trying to break into properties.

"Man caught red-handed by PC Jacklin trying to break in.

"Arrested for attempted burglary, going equipped and possessing bladed article."
