Congleton Heritage & Antiques Festival 2020 starts Saturday – ONLINE!

Local News by Tom Avery 9th Sep 2020

The second biennial Congleton Heritage & Antiques Festival is going ahead, despite the current restrictions, with an exciting virtual programme of over 40 items, starting on Saturday (12th September) and continuing for two weeks.

These pre-recorded items on the Our Events page can be viewed from the date on the listing; and are available throughout the festival fortnight (and many beyond that).

Among the attractions are a talk by Adam Partridge, local celebrity auctioneer; poetry by John Lindley, the former Cheshire Laureate; a feature on Congleton's suffragist Elizabeth Wolstenholme Elmy; a Vintage Cinema season; and a drama workshop.

The varied programme also includes heritage building methods, metal detecting, brass bands, canals, churches, mining, art and fashion.

The Festival ends on Sunday 27th September with a free LIVE event in the town centre, the Beartown Charity Car Cruise.
