Congleton convenience store selected to trial new contactless shopping app
By James Kelly 19th Jun 2020
A Congleton convenience store is one of just six shops in the UK to be selected to trial a new app.
Jisp, an all-in-one shopping app providing contact-free payment, went live on Monday (15 June) at Hightown Convenience Store as part of the tech company's partnership with the Federation of Independent Retailers (NFRN). Two hundred shoppers have already signed up to take advantage of the Cross Lane store's best deals and offers, home delivery and click & collect services as well as virtual quizzes and community events, all through the mobile platform. Steve Archer, Hightown Convenience Store owner, told Congleton Nub News: "Since the start of coronavirus many of our customers preferred not to come to the shop so we launched an ad hoc delivery service. "The Jisp app has formalised and simplified this so we can now offer delivery and click & collect. "It also means we can keep customers up-to-date with our product availability, latest deals and promotions. "This, alongside the social aspect of the app, enables us to become much more part of the local community and engage with our customers, which will be just as important after coronavirus. "The shop has seen an increase in footfall as more people choose to shop locally and more often.
