Over 600 toys were delivered to children in need last Christmas.

Congleton Town Council has shared the results of the 'outstanding success' that was the 2025 NSPCC Congleton Toy Appeal.

Organisers say they were 'overwhelmed' by the generosity shown by the local community, with donations exceeding expectations.

In total, the appeal supported 203 children from 81 families, with over 600 toys donated.

Children placed into emergency care during the festive period also benefitted, ensuring that some of the most vulnerable young people in town received comfort and joy at Christmas.

Congleton Town Mayor, councillor Robert Brittain, said: "The generosity shown by the people of Congleton has been truly heart-warming.

"Time and again, our community comes together to support families who are facing difficult circumstances.

"These donations are more than toys – they bring joy, reassurance and a sense of being cared for.

"On behalf of the Town Council, I would like to thank everyone who contributed to making this appeal such a success."

Plus Dane Housing played a central role in coordinating the appeal.

Their offices were transformed into a 'Santa's grotto' as staff worked to match donated toys to family referrals and manage the distribution process.

Their local knowledge and frontline connections ensured that donations reached all families across Congleton who needed them most.

Congleton Town Council has also paid a special thanks to Rotary Congleton, who donated £1,000 to the appeal.

This funding was used to purchase additional toys from The Toy Barn at Glebe Farm, supporting a local business while helping to ensure a wide range of gifts for children of all ages.

Meanwhile, the congregation at North Rode Church, made a significant donation of toys following a special service held in support of the appeal.
