Leek Building Society, known for their long-standing community focus, has installed a new defibrillator at Marlfields Primary Academy.

The award-winning building society have shown their dedication to local communities by pledging to install 100 new defibrillators across Staffordshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire, and Shropshire.

Leek Building Society celebrated the commencement of this life-saving initiative in October 2023 when their first defibrillator was installed in Uttoxeter. Now with their eighth AED unit being installed at Marlfields Primary Academy on Waggs Road, the local area is better equipped to offer pupils, teachers and nearby residents a critical resource in times of medical emergencies.

"It's fantastic to see a local Congleton school benefit from our defibrillator programme," said Rich Czapski, Branch Manager at Leek Building Society's Congleton branch, "It's so important to have life-saving equipment such as this on a premises that holds so many pupils, teachers and members of the local community on a day-to-day basis. I look forward to seeing who else we can support in and around the Congleton area next."

Leek Building Society's Congleton branch is located on the town's High Street, not far from where the new AED unit has been installed at the school.

The Leek is dedicated to making a positive difference to local communities, and the installation of these defibrillators is a testament to their commitment to making a difference where it matters most.
